The first part of the movie is by far the best. The same can be said about having Rutger Hauer as the comic master vampire. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind. Probably, the director made the difference. A fantasy-thriller set in present-day Moscow where the respective forces that control daytime and nighttime do battle.This is a nice film, with an interesting plot, but is is unnecessarily confusing.
